I like how the puppy isn't centered, I think it allows the eye to still focus on him/her... plus the way the background is out of focus allows the viewers eye to make its way over to the puggle, where it should be!
The expression on this dogs face is priceless... like he/she is looking at something, focused in that way that puppies do when they become oblivious to the things around them...
I congratulate you on getting a shot of a puppy that actually looks almost staged -- having had a puppy myself, I know how hard it can be to get a picture where they're actually still.
This is a really good picture, overall. I wouldn't change a thing!
I took much to long to write a critique on this. It's been in my "critique me" folder. The reason for that being as it's such an adorable shot! I usually don't take the time to really look at shots like this, but this one in my eyes captures the puppies curiousness so very well. Absolutely wonderful Depth of Field. But I the real catcher like I said is the expression, the slight tilt of it's head. The "essence" of this photograph is what caught me. And it's a shot that you should defiantly be proud of. Something I'd get for my wife to hang up on the wall and make her smile every time she looks at it.
that is the cutest puppy ever! Simply adorable that made me smile & my heart warm. Lovely as always.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. - St. Francis
